Our Story

Gemma which is Italian for "precious jewel", was born in October of 2000, and is my Granddaughter. She was named by my father, Joseph Fugarino, a local restauranteur who was better know as Giuseppe. To Gemma he was simply Papa. One day Gemma asked me to show her how to make a cheesecake. This was the start of Gemma Rae's Homestyle Cheesecakes. After enjoying much success we decided to open Gemma Rae's Cheesecake Cafe in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Today we specialize in homemade quality Italian foods and as always...cheesecakes. Dine in or carry out be sure to try one of our amazing sandwiches and our Famous Pizza!
